MARIJUANA SEEDLINGS

Once you Marijuana seeds sprout, you need to come up with a plan to care for your baby seedlings. Where you are starting your germinated seeds in paper towels, rock wool or peat pellets, they should be placed in a more befitting growing medium.

SELECTING SUITABLE CONTAINERS FOR YOUR SEEDLINGS

It is very important to choose a suitable size of container for your seedlings. Marijuana plants are able to mature in small containers, like 12-ounce drinking plastic bottles. There are some Marijuana growers who use large containers such as 30-gallon containers to grow marijuana indoors. You should make use of a warehouse, a greenhouse or a barn to grow what will become your small Marijuana tree, and you should use a range of between one and three gallons.

Even though you can still place seedlings directly into the container that they will flower in and prevent shock during transplant, the most preferred method is conducting several transplants from small, medium and large sized container, because Marijuana grows in size.

THE REASONS FOR USING DIFFERENT CONTAINERS INCLUDE

  • Use of small planters utilizes the space well.
  • Grouping small planters together use the grow light efficiently.
  • Using the small containers helps to keep the roots together.

HOW TO PLANT YOUR MARIJUANA SEEDLINGS

Start by placing a garden soil in your container, pack the soil lightly and use a pencil to make a hole. Let the eraser side of the pencil sink up to 1/2 deep into the soil and put your germinated seeds, cover with soil and water until the soil gets damp, but not soaking.

HOW TO WATER AND FEED YOUR SEEDLINGS

It is not necessary to feed your Marijuana seedlings with nutrients not unless you have decided to use a soilless mix. During the first few days, you should water your seedlings twice a day using a misting bottle. The frequency of watering your plant should depend on humidity and temperature. When your marijuana seeds become established, you can gradually cut reduce watering every two and three days. Seedlings are usually very delicate so do not water them directly to prevent damage.

LIGHTS FOR YOUR MARIJUANA SEEDLINGS

Marijuana seedlings do need too much light and can be grown under spiral compact fluorescents (CFLs), blue lights from Metal Halides (MH) and LEDs. Keep off from incandescent lights because they emit too little light and too much heat. If the wattage of your light source is high, your seedlings should be kept as far away from the light source. Don’t place the Marijuana seedlings too far away from the light source because they will stretch towards the light, therefore becoming weak and spindly.

Using blue light dominant LEDs and full spectrum LED grow lights will provide; a perfect start, reduce your cost of electricity and offer little heat if all there will be any. High-Pressure Sodium (HPS) lights are deficient in blue light and they are not required by Marijuana seedlings. Plants require blue light to use in pointing them towards the light source.
